What are Veneers?
Veneers are a shell attached to the surface of your teeth. They are made of porcelain and are stronger than your natural teeth. Veneers are meant to be your teeth but better. They can be customized to be a specific colour, shape and length.
Veneers are a cosmetic dentistry procedure. They are made to be long-lasting, chipped, and fit into your mouth as seamlessly as your natural teeth. Unlike other veneers, there is no need for your teeth to be filled down; these veneers fit over your natural teeth.
What are the benefits of Veneers?
Veneers offer a wide range of cosmetic and functional benefits for your smile. One of the biggest advantages is the confidence boost they provide. When you feel proud of your smile, it naturally shows in your everyday interactions, helping you smile, speak, and laugh with greater confidence.
Veneers can also improve the appearance of crooked, uneven, or gapped teeth by creating a straighter, more balanced smile. They are an excellent solution for covering chipped, worn, stained, or damaged teeth, giving your smile a brighter and more uniform appearance. Designed to look natural and blend seamlessly with your existing teeth, veneers can completely transform your smile while helping you feel more confident every day.
FAQ's
Have you got a question? We have an answer!
If you should look at veneers, we’ll take a look at your dental history. If you have a history of gum disease, lots of fillings, or dental disease, we’ll suggest a treatment plan to get your teeth and gums healthy. After we’ve improved your oral health, then we’ll discuss veneers.
Veneers can last up to 10 years or more as long as they are cared for. Treat them as you would treat your teeth. We advise you to floss once a day and brush twice a day. Coming in to see us regularly for dental cleanings is a great way to keep your veneers looking good.
No, you can see your general dentist for veneers. Cosmetic dentistry is usually part of any dental practice. We advise all patients to research beforehand as not every dentist focuses on cosmetic dentistry. Make an appointment for a consultation; this will give you a good idea of what working with that dentist will be like.
With the way veneers are made, smoking shouldn’t stain them. However, it can stain the bonding material, discolouring the edges of the veneers. We advise all our patients to refrain from smoking as it affects their overall oral health.
For veneers, we’ll typically do three appointments. During your first appointment, we’ll discuss the process of getting veneers. We’ll examine your dental history to ensure you’re a good candidate for veneers. Then we’ll discuss what you want the final product to look like, i.e. how bright you would like your smile to be and the shape and length you would like.
We’ll want to ensure you’re happy with the final product, so we’ll ask many questions. We do this to ensure we have all the information we need to give you the smile you want. If you have examples of what you would like in your new smile, we encourage you to bring them.
We’ll schedule your second appointment after you get the look you want. Your second appointment will involve taking moulds of your teeth. The moulds are made to ensure a perfect fit. During your second appointment, we’ll fit you with temporary veneers while your final veneers are being made.
Finally, we’ll bring you back in for a third appointment. This appointment will be bonding your veneers to your teeth. We’ll fit them first to ensure they’re comfortable, and once you’re happy with how they look and feel, we bond them to your teeth. Our dentist will walk you through how to properly care for veneers to make them last as long as possible.
Our team is experienced and here to ensure you’re happy with your smile. If you have concerns or questions during the process, don’t hesitate to ask. We aim to provide you with love and your smile for years.
