Affordable Dental Care in Calgary
At Toothcrew Dental, we know that seeing a dentist is expensive. It’s hard to balance seeing a dentist and taking care of other expenses. At our practice, we believe that you shouldn’t have to compromise on dental care.
We are committed to providing you with excellent dental care at an affordable price. We want to make sure you are fully aware of our prices. We do our best to accommodate and work with you to help you afford dental care.
What is Affordable Dental Care?
Affordable dental care at Toothcrew Dental means we are committed to providing you with dental care that won’t break the bank. We stick to the pricing outlined in the Alberta Dental Fee Guide. This guide outlines what dental procedures, cleanings and check-ups should cost. At Toothcrew, we are transparent about pricing, so you don’t get a nasty surprise when you see your bill.
At Toothcrew, we set prices based on the fee guide. As a dentist in Alberta, we establish our own set of fees. However, we want our patients to have the care they need without breaking the bank. Our fee system is set up to reflect the Alberta Dental Fee Guide directly.
We must have standardized pricing to ensure no patient can be charged a different procedure price. The only exception to this rule is when patients fall under specific government insurance programs such as Social Services or Workers Compensation. These programs prohibit any balanced billing. Balancing billing refers to billing you for the remaining amount not covered by insurance.

What are dental procedure costs?
Following the Alberta Dental Fees Guide, our prices are standardized. Your typical insurance plan will cover:
• Up to 100% of Dental Exams
Up to 70-90% of Dental Fillings and Extractions
• Up to 50% of Root Canals and Dental Crowns
The cost of a dental cleaning will vary from patient to patient. The time it takes to complete a cleaning on a patient dictates how much the cleaning will cost. A typical cleaning will last 45 minutes; however, it will take longer if it has been a while since you’ve seen a dentist or have other oral health issues.
Every 15-minute interval will be billed separately from the cleaning. The longer it takes to clean, the more expensive it will be. Most insurance providers will cap the number of visits and procedures they cover. We are here to work with you to provide you with affordable dental care, so we do our best to work with you and your insurance.
If you have questions about how much a visit will cost, we encourage you to call our office. We do our best to provide you with an estimate for whatever service you want. When you call for an estimate, we ask that you let our team know if you fall under any government dental programs so we can provide you with an accurate estimate.
Government Dental Programs
The federal and provincial governments provide dental programs to help you afford dental care.
The province provides Senior Dental coverage for low-income seniors. Seniors who qualify for coverage can visit a dentist of their choice. The amount of coverage will vary based on the income of the individual. The Senior Dental coverage can cover up to 100% of the dental fees, with $5000.00 every five years. For more information about Senior Dental coverage, call Alberta Health Services at (Toll-free:) 1-877-644-9992 or visit the Alberta Health website.
We will do our best to work with you and your insurance to get you affordable dental care. At Toothcrew, we recognize that not all of our patients have insurance. If you have questions about estimates, insurance and coverage, call us at (587) 358-3333 or email us at admin@toothcrewdental.ca.
Canadian Dental Care Plan - CDCP
The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federal initiative aimed at making dental care more accessible and affordable for Canadians. Recognizing that many individuals and families struggle with the high costs of dental services, the CDCP provides financial assistance to those without dental coverage and with an adjusted household income of less than $90,000 annually. This program ensures that eligible Canadians can receive essential dental care without the burden of excessive costs, promoting better oral health and overall well-being across the country.
